About
APOSTLE ICONS began in 2023 when our founder Paul (Apostolos) launched a small Instagram page which was initially called ORTHODOX ICONS. This page had a very simple mission - to promote our ancient Eastern Orthodox faith through iconography, and to bring some beauty and tradition into a social media landscape dominated by fleeting trends, superficial entertainment, and hedonistic content. This mission was epitomised by the very two individuals whom we are proud to call our patron Saints - the Holy Chiefs of the Apostles, Saints Peter and Paul.
The goal of the page was not simply to share beautiful icons, but to reveal the deeper meaning, symbolism, and sacred traditions behind them. Aligning our posts with the feast days of the Church, we sought to bring to light the stories and teachings of our incredible Saints from all Orthodox traditions, including many who remain lesser known outside their local Churches. We would also like to acknowledge the Mystagogy Resource Centre (johnsanidopoulos.com) for all their work in providing such a detailed online resource on the lives of the Saints and Orthodox commentary - this has been an invaluable reference point for our research.
The support that we have received from the followers of our page in such a short time has been overwhelming and very humbling - all Glory be to God. After receiving an abundance of requests, we have put much time and effort into creating a range of high-quality and authentic Byzantine-style icons which are now available for purchase. Shipped from Australia, all of our icons are carefully crafted and mounted on natural wood in Greece using museum-quality silk-screen printing, faithfully preserving the form and detail of original hand-written icons.
We hope that these “windows to heaven” can serve as a source of inspiration, prayer, and spiritual comfort within the homes of all those who receive them, helping to draw hearts and minds closer to Christ, His All-Holy Mother, and His Choir of Saints.
In Christ,
The APOSTLE ICONS Team.
